Why Should I Take the TIPS Online Training Course for Ohio?
The TIPS program was first developed in 1982 by Dr. Morris Chafetz, who was the founding director of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. Since then, it has grown to be the premier training platform for servers, bartenders, bar backs, managers, and others. In TIPS, they learn the skills needed to serve alcohol to guests and customers in a responsible way, and to prevent customer intoxication, underage drinking, and driving under the influence.
Instead of just focusing on the facts, however, TIPS emphasizes people skills as part of its training, showing service professionals how to spot signs of intoxication, deal with guests who may have had too much to drink, and even learn to pick out false forms of identification.
With our online TIPS training, you get all the benefits of the program – and the certification you need to be employed in the service industry – from the convenience of your home at a low cost

Acceptable Forms of ID - Ohio
Ohio law does not require patrons purchasing alcohol to have ID on their person, nor does Ohio law require permit holders to check for ID. However, it is the permit holder's responsibility to ensure that no alcohol is sold to a person under the age of 21.
Ohio law does not provide a list of acceptable forms of identification. Ohio Revised Code section 4301.639 provides a defense for permit holders who sell alcohol to underage individuals after checking an official state of Ohio identification, state of Ohio driver's license, or U.S. military identification card.
The state of Ohio conducts regular sting operations at bars and liquor stores to ensure compliance to the "no alcohol sold to minors" law.
